Jeffrey D. WassmerJeff Wassmer is the President and CEO of Spectrum, a company he founded in 1999. He has over 20 years of experience in network security and program management of Department of Defense Command, Control, Communications, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance programs.

During his 20 years of service in the Air Force, Jeff gained expertise while serving as a Senior Systems Analyst for C4ISR systems. He led the effort to electronically connect Air Force ISR systems to a distributed environment world-wide, an infrastructure that has allowed many significant “firsts” during recent contingency efforts. Jeff has been personally cited for his contributions to Operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom. He has been at the forefront of many ISR Architecture modernization efforts that have enabled more efficient, timely, and accurate information and intelligence.
 
Jeff has guided Spectrum to steady increases in growth each year which has resulted in Spectrum reaching large-business status in 2011. Spectrum was cited by Virginia Business as one of the 2012 Best Places to Work in Virginia in the large business category. The company has also ranked on Virginia’s Fastest Growing Companies – the Fantastic 50 list hosted by the VA Chamber of Commerce five times.  Inside Business determined Spectrum to be one of the Best Places to Work in Hampton Roads five times and a Roaring 20 company two years running. Spectrum has placed on the Inc 5000 fastest-growing private businesses in America list for the past four years.  Past recognitions include being named the High-Tech Entrepreneur of the Year in Hampton Roads as well as Small Business Person of the Year. 
 
Jeff currently serves as the Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Spectrum Foundation which designates fifty percent of monies raised to support Veterans organizations. He is also involved in many community organizations to include the Military Affairs Council, the Langley Civic Leaders Association, Boy Scouts of America, and Orphan Helpers. He serves on the Board of Directors for the Virginia Peninsula Chamber of Commerce, the Boys and Girls Club of the Virginia Peninsula, the Peninsula Fine Arts Center and several other organizations. Jeff was a member of Lead Virginia's First Inaugural Class. He is a founding member of the Virginia Chapter of the Young Presidents Organization (YPO) and continues to serve in leadership positions. Jeff was appointed by Virginia Governor Bob McDonnell to the Board of Trustees of the Virginia National Defense Industrial Authority (VNDIA) and Governor McDonnell also appointed Jeff as a Commissioner on the Virginia Port Authority Board of Commissioners.  As a member, he oversees operations of the 43 Billion dollar a year shipping enterprise in the Commonwealth.
