Information Operations Division Manager
Steve Bodkins is the Division Manager for the Information Operations Division of Spectrum. He oversees all aspects of Information Operations, including the Information Assurance support provided to the AF Distributed Common Ground System (AF DCGS). Mr. Bodkins has over 29 years of experience in the Communications, Computer and Information Assurance arenas.
During 24 years of service in the Air Force, he gained vast Information Assurance security experience. Mr. Bodkins was selected to be part of the first Information Warfare Squadron (IWS) in United States military history. The unit was the first to defend the Ninth Air Force (9AF) and United States Central Command Air Force’s (USCENTAF) Air Operations Center (AOC). They were the first to defend the AOC’s information and information systems, and were thus the first to prove the utility of information protection in support of air operations. Steve finalized his Air Force career as an Information Assurance Certifier performing Certification and Accreditation (C&A) for the USAF.
Upon joining Spectrum in March 2001 Mr. Bodkins has been the lead contractor for the operational security of the AF Distributed Common Ground System (AF DCGS) weapon system. His background and experience was instrumental in him being designated as the Alternate AF DCGS Chief Information Assurance Officer (CIAO). Steve’s leadership and experience is directly reflected in the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) designation of the AF DCGS CIAO Office to also serve as the Certifying Organization responsible for the C&A of the AF DCGS weapon system.
