Jeffrey D. Wassmer

President/CEO
Jeff Wassmer is the President and CEO of Spectrum Comm, Inc., a company he founded in 1999. He has over 20 years of experience in network security and program management of Department of Defense Command, Control, Communications, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance programs.

During his 20 years of service in the Air Force, Jeff gained expertise while serving as a Senior Systems Analyst for C4ISR systems. He led the effort to electronically connect Air Force ISR systems to a distributed environment world-wide, an infrastructure that has allowed many significant “firsts” during recent contingency efforts. Jeff has been personally cited for his contributions to Operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom. He has been at the forefront of many ISR Architecture modernization efforts that have enabled more efficient, timely and accurate information and intelligence.

Jeff has guided Spectrum to steady increases in growth each year. Spectrum has been cited as one of Virginia's Fantastic 50 fastest growing companies three times, as well as one of the Top 25 places to work in Hampton Roads. In 2008 Jeff was named the High-Tech Entrepreneur of the Year in Hampton Roads and was selected as one of twelve Entrepreneurial Excellence Award nominees in the Hampton Roads area by Inside Business. In August 2008, Inc 5000 ranked Spectrum on its annual ranking of the 5000 fastest-growing private companies in the country. In 2009, Spectrum was ranked even higher on this list. Spectrum also ranked as a winner of the Inner City 100 fastest-growing inner city companies in the United States in 2008. Jeff has been recognized as the Virginia Peninsula Chamber of Commerce Small Business Person of the Year. He currently serves as the Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Spectrum Foundation.

Mr. Wassmer is involved in many community organizations to include the Military Affairs Council of VPCC, Boy Scouts of America, Orphan Helpers, the Langley Civic Leaders Association and the American Red Cross. He serves on the Board of Directors for the Virginia Peninsula Chamber of Commerce, York County Boys and Girls Club, the Peninsula Fine Arts Center and several other organizations. Jeff was a member of Lead Virginia's First Inaugural Class. He was selected by his peers to serve as the Vice President of the newly formed Lead VA Alumni Association. He serves as the Chapter Chair for the Virginia Chapter of the Young Presidents Organization (YPO) of which he was also a founding member.
