Newport News, VA – On May 7, 2010 the Spectrum Foundation hosted its 1st Annual SpectrumFoundation Golf Tournament at the Kiln Creek Golf and Country Club in Newport News, VA. Over 80 golfers came out to enjoy the great weather, delicious food, and wonderful camaraderie.

This 18-hole format allowed not only the experienced golfer to compete in tournament play, but also offered the novice a test of their golf skills. The Kiln Creek Golf and Country Club is an 18 hole championship course and one of the finest tests of golf in the state of Virginia.  The 6,072 yard, par 72 course is recognized as one of the top 100 new courses in America when it opened.

Through this event, $6,000 was raised for the Spectrum Foundation. Due to the resounding success of the inaugural Spectrum Foundation Golf Tournament, members of the Board of Directors and the committees plan to host this event on a yearly basis. The Spectrum Foundation would like to thank the following sponsors for their support; BB&T, Cox, Bay Electric, Global Cyberspace Integration Center, KIS Computers, Matrix Capital, Sage Law Practice, Wells Fargo, Troutman & Saunders, NSCI, Beskin, CI Travel, The “ACE” Amateurs, Paramount Builders, Insignia, Atlantic Bay Mortgage, and TowneBank.
