Newport News, VA – May 20, 2012 Spectrum was a key sponsor for the second annual Run for the Dream organized by An Achievable Dream Academy and Dave McGillivray Sports Enterprises (DMSE).  Spectrum’s sponsorship focused on the Wounded Warrior organizations benefitted by this event, hosting our Wounded Warrior guests for the race weekend’s festivities.

Several Spectrum employees also manned a Jimmy Buffet-themed water station for the half marathon on Sunday, May 20 which won best theme.  The early morning provided employee-owners inspiration as several Wounded Warriors flew past our water station with hundreds of race participants whose entry fees contributed to An Achievable Dream Academy and several Wounded Warrior organizations.

Jeff Wassmer, Spectrum President & CEO states, “I had the privilege and pleasure of attending many of the weekend’s events, being in the presence of many Veterans and Wounded Warriors.  I have not felt so humbled and honored

in a long time.  Seeing their pride in our country, their sacrifices for our freedom, and the sheer determination and excitement on the faces of those who participated in the races left with me such gratification for all of our Armed Forces and Veterans as well as our community which came together to support such a great cause.”
