Spectrum was recently ranked #13 in the large employer category on the 2013 Best Places to Work in Virginia list. This marks the second year Spectrum has placed on this distinguished list of VA companies.
The annual list of “Best Places to Work” was created by Virginia Business and Best Companies Group. This survey and award program was designed to identify, recognize and honor the best places of employment in Virginia, benefiting the state’s economy, its work force and businesses. The Best Places to Work in Virginia list is made up of a total of 80 companies, split into three groups: 39 small employers (fewer than 100 employees) 15 mid-sized employers (100-250 employees), and 26 large-sized employers (more than 250 employees).
Organizations from across the state entered the two-part survey process to determine the Best Places to Work in Virginia. The first part consisted of evaluating each nominated company’s workplace policies, practices, philosophy, systems and demographics. The second part consisted of an employee survey to measure the employee experience. The combined scores determined the top organizations and the final ranking. Best Companies Group managed the overall registration, survey and analysis process and determined the final rankings.
The rankings of the 3rd annual Best Places to Work in Virginia were unveiled and published in the February 2013 issue of Virginia Business. Spectrum President & CEO Jeff Wassmer states, “As a government services firm, we have seen the contractor environment change significantly over the past couple years. Contracting companies are finding themselves in a highly competitive pricing environment that forces all of us to look for ways to innovate and save on costs throughout our companies. Spectrum’s goal is to maintain a well-balanced culture and morale with key elements of honest and open communication with our employees’, trust in each other, and celebration of successes. I am humbled that in this environment, we have been able to maintain the culture Spectrum was founded on.”
