Great Place to Work® names Spectrum #15 on their annual 2012 Best Small & Medium Workplaces list, published today by FORTUNE magazine.  This list spanning the United States recognizes companies that have exceptional workplace cultures. Now in its ninth year, the competition is divided into two categories, Small (50-250 employees) and Medium (251-999 employees).

Spectrum was selected among hundreds of companies vying for a place on the list this year. Applicant companies opt to participate in the selection process, which includes an employee survey and an in-depth questionnaire about their programs and company practices. The employee survey is optional and employee responses are confidential, thus protecting open and honest feedback. Great Place to Work® then evaluates each application using its unique methodology based on five dimensions: credibility, respect, fairness, pride and camaraderie.

Spectrum President & CEO Jeff Wassmer states, “This marks the first national culture and morale-based award we have won. Needless to say, we are celebrating as culture and morale cannot be delegated or demanded. It must be created and coddled by the whole and felt by all team members – from the 10 year employee to the five day old employee to the customer who walks in the door. This was the work of our entire organization and I could not be more proud.”

Spectrum, along with the Best Companies list was published online on CNN Money.  Great Place to Work® also hosts Spectrum’s unique workplace page.  Visit to learn more about our workplace culture.
