Spectrum Foundation Hosts Foundation Friday

Spectrum Donates Clothing to Hampton Ecumenical Lodgings & Provisions, INC. (H.E.L.P.)
Newport News, VA On February 1, 2010 Spectrum donated ten bags containing clothes, jackets, and shoes to Hampton Ecumenical Lodgings & Provisions, INC. Also known as H.E.L.P., this organization provides emergency shelter, transitional housing, a winter shelter program, food, financial assistance to those in need, life skills training and job placement for the homeless, and free healthcare to those without medical coverage. Founded in 1982, H.E.L.P. is a faith-based organization supported by member congregations, schools, local businesses, civic clubs and organizations. Over the years, H.E.L.P. has grown dramatically both in the number of volunteers and people it serves in various ministries. Spectrum Foundation responds to the Haiti Crisis
The Spectrum Foundation donated $2,500 to the American Red Cross International Relief Fund immediately following the devastating earthquakes which occurred January 12, 2010. Spectrum Wins Subcontract with SAIC to Provide Staff Support to the Global Cyber Integration Center
Spectrum, a veteran-owned small business headquartered in Newport News, VA announced today that they have been notified by SAIC as the prime contractor that Spectrum was awarded a subcontract to provide support to the Global Cyberspace Integration Center (GCIC)in Hampton, VA. Spectrum Foundation Makes Progress as the Year Comes to a Close
Since the Spectrum Foundation’s inception on January 1, 2009, the Board of Directors and all committee members have been busy laying the framework for the Foundation. Spectrum Donates 164 Pairs of Shoes to Soles 4 Souls
Newport News, VA- October 22 – Throughout the month of September Spectrum held a Soles 4 Souls shoe drive for all of its locations. Over the month 164 pairs of shoes were collected to help those in need. Spectrum, now spread out over 19 locations, had the most support from its Newport News office, its Warner Robins Georgia office and a remote employee in Utah. While most of the shoes were gently used, 24 brand new pairs of shoes were also donated to support the cause. (more…)

Newport News, VA, September 29, 2009 – Spectrum, a veteran-owned small business headquartered in Newport News, VA, announced today that it has been awarded the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) and Air Force Global Cyberspace Integration Center (GCIC) indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract for Enterprise Design & Development Engineering (EDDE) valued at $49,980,000. Spectrum Presents First Annual Check to Spectrum Foundation
Spectrum, a local government contractor, recently presented its first annual donation of $25,000.00 to the Spectrum Foundation. The Foundation will now carry the flag of the Spectrum leadership and employee owners for all ventures adhering to Spectrum’s long standing tradition to support veteran and local community charitable organizations. Over the course of the summer, the Foundation began establishing a Board of Directors, defining its mission and exploring the contribution focus to which the majority of the funds would be distributed. With an obvious choice being a Veteran supported group, the actual organization will be decided with an employee-wide vote in the coming month. Great things are anticipated from the Foundation as it continues Spectrum’s long time service to the communities in which it operates.
