Spectrum Foundation responds to the Haiti Crisis

The Spectrum Foundation donated $2,500 to the American Red Cross International Relief Fund immediately following the devastating earthquakes which occurred January 12, 2010. Spectrum Wins Subcontract with SAIC to Provide Staff Support to the Global Cyber Integration Center

Spectrum Foundation Makes Progress as the Year Comes to a Close

Since the Spectrum Foundation’s inception on January 1, 2009, the Board of Directors and all committee members have been busy laying the framework for the Foundation. Spectrum Donates 164 Pairs of Shoes to Soles 4 Souls

Newport News, VA- October 22 – Throughout the month of September Spectrum held a Soles 4 Souls shoe drive for all of its locations. Over the month 164 pairs of shoes were collected to help those in need. Spectrum, now spread out over 19 locations, had the most support from its Newport News office, its Warner Robins Georgia office and a remote employee in Utah. While most of the shoes were gently used, 24 brand new pairs of shoes were also donated to support the cause. (more…)

Newport News, VA, September 29, 2009 – Spectrum, a veteran-owned small business headquartered in Newport News, VA, announced today that it has been awarded the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) and Air Force Global Cyberspace Integration Center (GCIC) indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract for Enterprise Design & Development Engineering (EDDE) valued at $49,980,000. With this award, Spectrum will transform the AFRL and GCIC innovation model to deliver evolutionary USAF warfighting capabilities for today’s fight and tomorrow battles. (more…)

Spectrum Presents First Annual Check to Spectrum Foundation

Spectrum, a local government contractor, recently presented its first annual donation of $25,000.00 to the Spectrum Foundation. The Foundation will now carry the flag of the Spectrum leadership and employee owners for all ventures adhering to Spectrum’s long standing tradition to support veteran and local community charitable organizations. Over the course of the summer, the Foundation began establishing a Board of Directors, defining its mission and exploring the contribution focus to which the majority of the funds would be distributed. With an obvious choice being a Veteran supported group, the actual organization will be decided with an employee-wide vote in the coming month. Great things are anticipated from the Foundation as it continues Spectrum’s long time service to the communities in which it operates.

Four Spectrum Employees Participate in the Chesapeake Bay Wine Classic Foundation’s 7th Annual Wine

On Aug 16th the 7th Annual Wine, Women and Fishing Event was held in VA Beach waters. The event is a women only charity billfish tournament benefitting the Eastern Virginia Medical School’s Breast Cancer Research Foundation. This year’s event brought in $30,000 to the Foundation which has raised over $100,000 in the past 6 years. Spectrum donated $1,000 to help sponsor a team for the exciting event which hosted more than 150 women on 29 boats. One employee donated the use of his boat “Wild at Heart” to Captain the ladies on their adventure. (more…)

Spectrum Supports the Black & Silver Brigade in Warner Robins, GA

Spectrum recently donated money to support the Black and Silver Brigade Marching Band in Warner Robins, GA. Warner Robins is home to Spectrum’s second office location and to over 75 of its 257 employees. The families in Warner Robins are fortunate enough to still have Fine Arts programs in their schools and it is very important to Spectrum to keep these programs alive. (more…)
