Spectrum Hires LoriAnn Penman as Director of Human Resources
LoriAnn Penman, MBA, SPHR, CCP joined Spectrum in October 2012 as Director of Human Resources. LoriAnn brings with her over twenty years of experience in human resources and business management. Her areas of expertise lie in compensation and total rewards, recruiting and retention initiatives, employee relations, and aligning human resource strategies with organizational goals. Her early career was spent as an accountant and corporate controller in the financial services and real estate industries. During this time, Human Resources fell under her management scope, and she has been focusing on it exclusively since 2005, holding leadership roles in the financial services and government contracting industries.

JEFF WASSMER IS APPOINTED VICE CHAIRMAN OF VIRGINIA PORT AUTHORITY
December 4, 2012—Jeff Wassmer, President and CEO of Spectrum Comm Inc., was appointed by the Virginia Port Authority (VPA) Board of Commissioners to serve as its Vice Chairman on November 27th. He was first appointed to the VPA by Governor McDonnell on July 15, 2011. Since his appointment, Mr. Wassmer served as Chairman of the Security/Safety Committee and as a member of the Marketing/Business Development Committee. (more…)

Spectrum Wins First DLA Task Order
September 28, 2012 – Newport News, VA Spectrum was recently notified that the firm has been awarded a $1.5M three year Task Order to support the Energy Convergence Systems Engineering and Configuration Management Support and Services Task in support of DLA. This work will be performed in Merrifield, VA. DLA is in the process of replacing aging mission-critical business systems with a highly integrated and interoperable Enterprise Business System and our Spectrum employees will be in key support roles to help our customer achieve Full Operational Capability for this key government energy modernization program.

Spectrum Employees Donate School Supplies to Local Community Schools
1-2-3-4, Which Team Can Collect More was a challenge for Spectrum employees at our three largest locations: Newport News, VA; Warner Robins, GA; and Beale AFB, CA to collect the most school supplies. All supplies went to each location’s local area organizations for youth in need. Employees proudly stepped up to this friendly challenge, collecting at a minimum 700 supplies per location and more than $2,000.00. (more…)

Spectrum Awarded a Subcontract on SAIC’s 480 ISRW Support Contract
Newport News, VA- On June 1, 2012 Spectrum, a member of SAIC’s 480th Support team received notification that SAIC has been awarded a $32,876,384 contract to support the Air Force Distributed Common Ground System (DCGS) ISR mission. As a member of this winning team, Spectrum provides over a decade of experience with the AF DCGS and years of support to the 480th Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance Wing mission.
